Although I studied computer science and multimedia from 1999 to 2002 at the private college "Delta", my true passion lies in photography and visual arts. I discovered this passion while teaching photography and video editing software as a professor from 2001 to 2003 to the private college "Delta".
Building on my experience as a professor of photography and video editing software, I started working as a photography editor in 2003. I joined a team of photojournalists and worked with them for a year, where I honed my skills in selecting and editing images for publication. This experience gave me a valuable insight into the world of photojournalism and helped me develop an eye for capturing the essence of a story through imagery. In the years that followed, I continued to work as an editor and assistant photographer, collaborating with other creatives to bring their vision to life. This work allowed me to learn from some of the best photographers and artists in the field, refining my craft and deepening my appreciation for the art of visual storytelling.
In 2008, I decided to take my photography education to the next level by participating in photography seminars at a private college in Paris - France. Although I had already gained considerable experience as a self-taught photographer, I felt that I needed to organize my knowledge and refine my skills in order to take my work to the next level. The seminars provided an excellent opportunity for me to learn from experienced professionals and fellow enthusiasts, allowing me to deepen my understanding of the technical and creative aspects of photography. I also had the chance to experiment with different styles and techniques, broadening my perspective and helping me find my own voice as a photographer. Overall, the seminars were a crucial step in my development as an artist, and they continue to influence my work to this day.
Since 2009, I have been working as a freelance photographer, focusing on both commercial and artistic projects.
On the commercial side, I specialize in shooting portraits and events, working with clients to capture their unique personalities and special moments. At the same time, I also pursue my passion for travel and street photography, which allows me to explore new places and capture candid moments of everyday life. I am drawn to the beauty and unpredictability of street photography, and I love the challenge of finding interesting subjects and telling compelling stories through my images. As a freelance photographer, I value the flexibility and independence that comes with my work, and I am always looking for new opportunities to grow and learn as an artist.
In 2018, I came up with the brand name Essential Pixels, which holds a special meaning to me. To me, "essential" means something that is necessary and important, while "pixels" refers to the building blocks of digital images.
The word "essential" is central to the ethos of my work as a photographer, reflecting my commitment to authenticity, transparency, and originality. I believe that the best images are those that capture a genuine moment or emotion, without relying on excessive retouching or manipulation to alter reality. To me, essential photography is about revealing the beauty and complexity of the world around us, without imposing artificial or unrealistic expectations on the viewer.
While photography has been the primary focus of my work as a visual artist, I have increasingly expanded my creative pursuits in recent years. Over the past six years, I have added videography to my skill set, capturing motion and sound to tell stories in a new way. This has allowed me to explore different dimensions of visual art, experimenting with movement, sound, and pacing to create compelling and immersive narratives. In the past year, I have also begun exploring the exciting world of digital art, using cutting-edge tools and techniques to create imaginative images that push the boundaries of what is possible with traditional photography. As a result of these diverse interests and skills, I see myself as a visual artist rather than simply a photographer. My goal is to use my creativity and technical expertise to explore new forms of expression, challenging myself and my viewers to see the world in fresh and unexpected ways.
In many ways, my journey as a photographer and visual artist has only just begun. Although I have gained a wealth of experience over the years, I am always learning, always growing, and always pushing myself to new heights of creative expression. Every day brings new challenges, new techniques, and new technologies to explore - from new software and AI tools to new gear and equipment. With art, you are always a student, always seeking to refine your craft and deepen your understanding of the world around you. For me, this is the most exciting aspect of what I do - the endless opportunities for growth and exploration, the infinite potential for self-discovery and creative expression. As I look to the future, I am excited to see where my journey as a photographer and visual artist will take me, and I am grateful for the opportunity to share my vision with others through my work.
